Day In the Life:

We are on the hunt for a talented and reliable maintenance technician to join our maintenance department. In this position, your chief responsibility is to preserve the condition and functionality of our business premises. Our ideal candidate will be a jack-of-all-trades, with in-depth knowledge of maintenance procedures, hydraulic systems, and basic tools and appliances. Be an outstanding problem-solver with exceptional communication and organizational skills.

What You Will Do:

  • Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues
  • Coordinate with skilled tradesmen and/or assigned supervisor(s) to complete projects
  • Respond to emergencies during and after hours to resolve immediate safety concerns
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures 
  • Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard and guarantee functionality
  • Schedule, perform, and document general maintenance tasks including landscaping, painting, office equipment repairs, and carpentry
  • Maintain the inventory records for equipment and supplies

 


What will you need:

  • Associate's Degree/Technical Diploma
  • A certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology, or a relevant field is preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques systems
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic
  • Has background knowledge and experience in welding and plumbing would be an asset
  • Good knowledge of high and low voltage systems would be an asset
  • Capability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics, building blueprints, procedure manuals, operating and maintenance manuals
  • Available Monday to Friday with occasional work on weekends; flexible to work afternoon shifts when required
  • Effective problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be well-organized, can prioritize tasks, ability to take initiative when required, and have a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines while working under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Strong understanding of health and safety requirements related to maintenance
  • Lift to a minimum of up to 25 kgs.
