Position Summary...

The Senior Manager, Global Mobility is accountable for developing and operationalizing and strategies that will enable Walmart Canada to scale and support the business through the movement of domestic and international talent. The focus will be on redefining mobility to ensure best-in-class programs and practices that are inclusive, leverage the latest in digital technology and delivers exceptional associate satisfaction. This role is also accountable for defining the strategy for and managing the Temporary Foreign Worker program in partnership with our external legal firms and internal regulatory partners.

The Senior Manager is a subject matter expert that provides guidance to key stakeholders across the organization including business leaders, People Partners, Talent Acquisition, Legal and International Global Mobility. This role works with global mobility vendors in the execution of their role and will also indirectly oversee a team of mobility administrators to provide direction in the support of the delivery of services and dashboards.

What you'll do...

Develops global mobility and temporary foreign worker strategies and tactics that advances Walmart Canada’s ability to scale and support the business through modern and frictionless movement of domestic and international talent.  Creates an inclusive and comprehensive framework that includes vendors, legal, government agencies (immigration, tax), people partners that facilitates and supports efficient movement of associates and their families.

1. Develops the Temporary Foreign Worker strategy and tactics in partnership with business leaders, People Vice Presidents, Regulatory Affairs, legal counsel, compliance and external immigration law firms.  Operationalizes tactics, communications, dashboards to ensure alignment to relevant legislation while enabling the needs of the business.

2. Identifies opportunities to innovate the global mobility portfolio to ensure best-in-class programs, practices and policies through annual benchmarking and taking into consideration the current and future needs of the business and our associates. Creates and brings forward business cases where significant financial spend is required.

3. Develops and oversees the creation of Global Mobility awareness, education and communication needs to support global mobility and temporary foreign worker programs.  Communications include computer based learning, presentations, intranet and other vehicles as required.

4. Manages outside vendors, liaises with International Global Mobility leadership, Country Global Mobility Coordinators, and  SMEs to develop and enforce Global mobility and temporary foreign worker policies and guidelines.

5. Anticipate and manage the expectations of the associate, hiring manager, recruiter, and business leaders through the development and provision of new/updated processes and technology that efficiently and cost-effectively moves talent while driving high customer satisfaction..  Assure high success and satisfaction by overseeing  the day-to-day activities that ensure successful transitions.

6.   Responsible for creating a repository/compliance structure to ensure there is one source of truth. Ensures Walmart Canada is in  compliance with all policies and legal aspects of local and foreign laws.

7. Manage global suppliers by maintaining and building positive and productive relationships; defines performance standards for acceptable outcomes and service levels.  In partnership with vendors, creates a global mobility dashboard to monitor performance and identify opportunities for improvement.;

Develops, coaches and provides direction to two direct global mobility staff.
