Introduction
As an IBM Application Architect, you directly help clients transform their business  and solve complex problems. You will define the scope and vision for projects that deliver customized solutions using your knowledge of IBM platforms.  You are a technical leader, serving as a liaison among business partners, technical resources, and project stakeholders.

This opportunity is for an individual who has both solid experience working within the SAP BASIS space, preferably as a team lead, most preferably with experience in the public sector. The successful candidate must have experience in managing the infrastructure and support of SAP solutions in complex business environments.

Responsibilities for the position include:

• Working with a multi-disciplinary team involved in the implementation of SAP Master Extended Warehouse Management, Transportation Management and Event Management
• Create strategies for delivering SAP on various technology platforms (SAP Business Technology Platform, IBM Cloud, MS Azure, Google Cloud, AWS)·
• Assess skills needed to support IBM’s SAP Practice
• Collaborate across the IBM organization to plan and deliver innovative SAP products and solutions to our clients
• Manage SAP technology performance metrics
• Generate, review and advise on all aspects of SAP project design and SAP reference architectures
• Create standards and practices for the use of SAP technology and govern their use across IBM’s SAP practice
• Drive thought leadership, innovation and creativity within the SAP Practice at IBM
• Managing or executing specific project deliverables and scope to ensure project schedules & timelines are respected.
• Working with the functional team to design technical solutions required to support business transformations and articulating proposed solutions in business terms demonstrating technical effectiveness in meeting business needs.
• Ensuring systems integration across suite of core application platforms.
• Translating the business requirements into comprehensive deliverables and estimate the work effort required to complete them.
• Enabling knowledge transfer to the client delivery and BASIS and Development teams before transition to in service support
• Experience managing the BASIS solution for new SAP emerging technologies such as S/4 HANA, Fiori as well as ECC
• Assessment of application requirements and translation to system and development efforts
• Actively performing knowledge transfer to clients
• Communicating in a team environment with clients and colleagues
• Providing support for deployment and sustainment as necessary

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• At least 7 years’ experience in projects involving different SAP modules in a large organization and be aware of the challenges faced by different teams in coming up with an integrated enterprise wide solution

• At least 7 years’ experience in in-depth knowledge of SAP Technical Architecture, with preference for experience working with HANA

• Minimum 7 years SAP implementation experience - full project lifecycle

• Strong skills in SAP ECC

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Certification in a related SAP domain
• Strong familiarity with SAP implementation methodologies, including ASAP
• Understanding of the new SAP Activate methodology would be an asset
• Knowledge of the SAP emerging technologies such as S4/HANA and Fiori would be an asset.

Required Security Clearances

• Government of Canada Secret Clearance is required

Must have the ability to work in Canada without sponsorship.
