Cost Accounting Associate

The Role:
Reporting into the Cost Accounting Manager, the Cost Accounting Associate Coordinator will be responsible for collaborating with contacts at manufacturing plants to ensure accurate reporting of cost of sales as well as timely close processes. They will also be responsible for coordinating with multiple business partners to ensure inventory is accurately reported on the financial statements.

What you’ll be working on:

  • Completing weekly and periodic close processes including journal entries and reconciliations through collaboration with plant contacts
  • Assisting Accounts Payable to ensure all costs are captured and payments completed in a timely manner
  • Completing weekly banking journal entries and ensuring bank reconciling items are cleared on a timely basis
  • Supporting with item maintenance and set-up
  • Investigating and resolving system issues, and improving processes to drive efficiencies
  • Ad hoc requests

Qualifications/Requirements

Who’s a good fit for the team:

  • Candidate with a college diploma
  • Solid understanding of technical accounting and financial systems and processes
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills (especially Excel); experience with Oracle and/or SAP is an asset
  • Strong communicator and team player
  • Ability to take ownership of processes and meet deadlines under time constraints
