The Role

We are currently searching for a Director of Marketing reporting to the VP, Retail. This is a 12- month Contract opportunity. Responsible for leading the Marketing Group for TBS and BDL businesses. Driving the strategic vision and leading a team across the following pillars within the Marketing Group; brand and marketing campaign/initiatives, in store merchandising and promotional revenue programs, digital and eCommerce operations and in store retail space planning. Works cross functionally across multiple verticals within the business including division leads, directors, and senior management team. This position is an active member of the senior management team and is a representative at the Board and Subcommittees of the Board.

Location: Remote/Hybrid Flex work will continue indefinitely! Our staff based out of corporate office have not returned to the site at this time, however staff will continue to work remotely with visits into the office on an as-needed basis depending on their role and function. Corporate office is located in Bolton, ON.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develops the overall Marketing Group strategy with an emphasis on driving brand relevance, increasing volume sales and revenue
  • Lead media engagement with external vendor for public relations and advocacy on business related matters such as operational holiday hours, and marketing or digital campaign efforts
  • Develops the annual plan and planning process for the team with clear objectives, realities and opportunities in mind. Leads department financial submissions and presents annual plans
  • An active contributor with the senior management team. Proactively provides updates on initiatives, plans and advocacy for management team. Provides support and counsel to the group and respective divisions.
  • Highly engaged in reviewing work across the Marketing Group pillars ensuring efforts are on brand, compliant with regulations and/or policies and meet objectives. Includes active participation across milestones of development within projects; scope of projects varies. Support the team with initiatives and is unafraid to roll up their sleeves to provide guidance, incremental support and training
  • Reviews consumer analysis, external consumer studies, financial results and Marketing Group reports to assess ROI. Is agile and motivated to optimize.
  • Accountable to the Marketing Group AOP and CAP budgets, ensuring overall budget is on track, mitigating risk and supporting internal financial processes
  • Develop plans and socializes them across senior management team, board or subcommittee of the board, and brewers. Plans and portfolio updates are presented to the Board and Subcommittees of the Board as required
  • Participates in board and subcommittee of the board quarterly meeting engagements. Develops materials for pre reads, distribution and presents material at meetings.
  • Guide the marketing team and digital eCommerce team by providing support within project milestones and post-mortems. Reviewing success, opportunities and key learnings for future
  • Monitor results and performance by providing timely feedback that affords celebration of strength, recognition or achievement and is unafraid to provide constructive feedback when required

 

Who You Are - Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • University or college degree in Business, Marketing, Commerce preferred. MBA an asset
  • A minimum of 12 years experience in marketing, digital eCommerce or similar role
  • Experience with developing marketing and digital strategies with execution plans, including 4+ years managing teams that extend across digital and brick and mortar
  • Knowledge and experience in Alcohol and/or beverage category, or eCommerce considered an asset
  • Experience working with upper management and senior stakeholders such as Board members
  • Proven track record of success across development of strategies, execution plans and collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Ability to understand and navigate regulations/politics, policies and brewer dynamics. Understanding of the regulatory and political implications on marketing execution and public relations
  • Understands consumer trends and needs and translates insights into actionable plans to drive ROI
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple budgets, set KPIs to determine success factor and analyze resulting ROI
  • Strong knowledge of the digital eCommerce marketplace and best practices in trends, innovation and building impact on the consumer journey
