As a Site Relationship Lead (Immunology), Janssen R&D you will be responsible for uncovering new opportunities and responding with mutually beneficial transformations, together with strategic partners, to increase value centered on clinical research. You will contribute to the development of a clear and measurable site engagement strategy across your country of responsibility, to address the needs of a rapidly evolving Immunology portfolio, focusing not only on today´s challenges but also on future portfolio needs across all phases of development. Creating a strong level of commitment between Janssen and the Strategic Sites and Networks is a key deliverable. Identifying and managing connections and communications between key stakeholders from internal Janssen and external partners are a basic delivery.

 

Principal Responsibilities: Strategy Development

  • Leads the development of Immunology site engagement strategy in alignment with key internal/external stakeholders, including the global therapeutic area teams, and integrating country/regional and global needs to deliver our portfolio across both inhouse and outsourced studies.
  • Match evolving portfolio needs to site capabilities.
  • Leverages data to assess opportunities and priorities, including internal priorities, relevant marketplace trends and the competitive landscape.
  • Partners with country teams to understand and analyze local market dynamics for clinical research and links when appropriate to the Janssen commercial priorities.
  • Routinely supports the appropriate segmentation of investigational sites resulting in a target list of Strategic Accounts.
  • Contributes to defining potential Strategic Account collaboration models in partnership with other Site Relationship Leads and Janssen business leaders, including other site facing roles. External Engagement
  • Connects at a Janssen R&D portfolio and program level with Strategic Accounts.
  • Initiates, develops, and manages relationships with new site/networks to optimize efficient and quality delivery of clinical trials.
  • Works collaboratively with outsourcing partners to ensure effective site engagement, enabling effective delivery of Immunology trial priorities
  • Transpose country and site level engagement and development strategies with key sites and key opinion leaders mapping at the portfolio level.
  • Develops annual Strategic Account specific plans that include people involved, agreed upon key objectives, strategies and tactics, and records specific activities and results against identified objectives.
  • Integrates and prioritizes Janssen R&D strategies and projects including relevant objectives and landmarks to optimize Strategic Account engagement and clinical trial delivery outcomes.
  • Leverages face to face interactions, including external meetings and congresses, to drive maximum impact. Internal Engagement
  • Develop strategies and priorities with relevant internal groups including, but not limited to Global Clinical Operations, Therapeutic Areas, Portfolio Delivery Operations, Clinical Insights and Experience, and Medical Affairs
  • Effectively communicates site strategies across all internal partners.
  • Coordinate the execution of Janssen site engagement strategy in partnership with other site facing functions such as the Therapeutic areas (TA), Country Operations (CO), Medical Affairs (MAF) and CRO partners.
  • Measure the impact of site strategies to continuously evolve and maximize value.
  • Provides Strategic Account insights and feedback to extended internal teams to share perceptions and perspectives on Janssen R&D clinical trial delivery.
  • Contributes to the adaptation of Janssen clinical operations processes to improve sites/networks experience and optimized clinical trial delivery.
  • Shares relevant lessons learned and best practices. Principal Relationships: The Site Relationship Lead (Immunology) reports up through a Regional or Country Strategic Account Lead (SAL) Director. Additional internal relationships include, but are not limited to, Therapeutic Areas, Portfolio Delivery Operations, Global Trial Coordination, Data Sciences, Feasibility center of excellence, Medical Affairs, and Contracting and Compliance Services. Primary external interfaces include, but are not limited to, Clinical Operations Leadership and Personnel at strategic sites and networks. Additional external interfaces may include other key personnel at Strategic Accounts, Industry Trade Group representatives, Site Network Representatives, and Key Opinion Leaders (within their roles as operations leaders at their respective organizations).

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree is required; a Master’s Degree or higher is preferred, ideally with an Immunology specialty or relevant experience
  • A Minimum of 5 years of either relevant clinical research, medical affairs or TA-specific experience is required.
  • Significant experience within the immunology Therapeutic Area is highly preferred.
  • The candidate should have experience working in a matrix team. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams or initiatives is preferred.
  • Experience working with external entities or 3rd parties including knowledge of contracts, relationship management, and oversight of deliverables is preferred.
  • Ability to understand and communicate market trends in healthcare related to the impact on the clinical trial delivery landscape across therapeutic areas is preferred.
  • Knowledgeable about clinical development and clinical operations is preferred.
  • 25% to 50% travel depending on geographic location is required.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $129,000 to midpoint $194,000. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
