The Role

We are currently searching for an Assistant Manager Operations - Warehouse. This is a Full-Time Permanent opportunity. This role provides effective management of facilities and assets by working with Manager, DC Operations and coordinates the responsibilities of the supervisory team to ensure cost effective warehousing and distribution. The AMO supports customer satisfaction targets and ensures proper implementation of health and safety policies.

Location: This role is based out of our London Distribution Centre.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Works with Manager, DC Operations and operations staff to create and implement processes, including warehouse and distribution schedules to meet company targets for on-time and accurate delivery
  • Consistently administers collective agreement to achieve effective labour relations and foster a productive work environment
  • Coaches’ supervisors in the consistent administration of discipline and handling of grievances
  • Monitor’s facility and individual performance, staffing levels, and attendance
  • Uses reporting tools to analyze facility layout and improve efficiencies via effective SKU slotting and pick path layout
  • Performs ABC, SKU analysis on an ongoing basis to maximize space efficiency
  • Ensures facility, warehouse equipment, and fleet are maintained in accordance with established guidelines
  • Ensures facility implements and maintains effective health and safety programs that meet federal, provincial, and corporate requirements
  • Coordinates supervisory team responsibilities to ensure facility compliance and adherence to all Provincial regulations
  • Works with supervisory team and Human Resources for effective management of WCB and WI claims including developing and implementing effective “Gradual Return to Work” plans
  • Develops policies and follow-ups with supervisors to ensure consistent enforcement of policies regarding security of facilities, assets, products, and employees
  • Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills with peers, subordinates, leaders, customers, and stakeholders
  • Clearly communicates goals and performance criteria to employees
  • Reviews and coordinates supervisory responsibilities to ensue inventories of full goods and empty containers are managed in accordance with SOPs, housekeeping standards, company accuracy, inventory breakage, and loss targets
  • Responds appropriately to changes and demonstrates flexibility
  • Challenges and questions the status quo in a positive manner and looks for creative approaches and new solutions
  • Investigates and responds to customer issues in a timely
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned

Who You Are - Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Diploma/Degree in business administration, logistics or related field
  • 5+ years of related experience, preferably in a unionized environment
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience
  • Computer skills at a high level
  • Capacity to prioritize and multi-task, strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and follow-up skills
  • Ability to work within the confines of a Collective Agreement
  • Superior organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communications: Communicates verbally in a clear, respectful and accurate manner. Demonstrates listening skills. Written communication is accurate and timely
  • Leadership: Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills with peers, subordinates, leaders, customers and stakeholders. Demonstrates individual accountability for actions
  • Innovation and Creativity: Responds appropriately to changes and demonstrates flexibility. Challenges and questions the status quo in a positive manner. Looks for creative approaches to new solutions
  • Demonstrates TBS and industry knowledge. Understanding of business fundamentals as it applies to the position. Exercises sound judgment when choosing best alternative
  • Customer Focus: Builds positive relationships with customers, suppliers and brewers. Strives to achieve high customer satisfaction. Acts on issues raised by customers
