Corporate Development Manager
We are seeking a talented sales strategist to join our inclusive Blackberry Corporate Development group! We assess and execute M&A transactions and strategic deals in close collaboration with other company’s functions (legal, finance, sales, product & engineering, HR, IT etc).
JOIN US and you will use your expertise to evaluate and manage strategic opportunities related to mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships/alliances and joint ventures in enterprise cybersecurity and automotive/IoT software markets.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Develop and drive Blackberry’s corporate strategy and its most critical strategic and M&A initiatives
- Maintain up-to-date business landscape knowledge and build relationships with key players in relevant market ecosystems with focus on the cybersecurity and automotive software markets
- Identify acquisition and investment opportunities in various enterprise, security and IoT software sectors
- Identify and build opportunities to include third-party and licensing strategic partnerships to deliver new revenue opportunities for BlackBerry
- Work effectively with the senior management of the company to identify and coordinate strategic partnerships with large ecosystem players in the cloud, software and connected car spaces
- Be an influencer by team working with Sales, Marketing, Product Management and Engineering to rally around strategic alliance opportunities
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Track record of professional experience in a investment bank, in-house corporate development role or top-tier management consultancy
- 3 or more years of progressive and successful professional experience in the majority of the following software sectors: enterprise software, cybersecurity, connected car, IoT, data analytics
- BS Degree in Business, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or related business and technical field; Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) will be a plus
- Highly organized, analytical, detail-oriented, results-oriented and have a strong sense of urgency
- Independent, self-driven and entrepreneurial; able to approach challenges, define workstreams and solve problems with limited guidance
- Strong team-worker and facilitator, able to effectively engage various corporate functions (Finance, Legal, Product & Engineering, HR, etc.) with busy competing priorities
- Executive level communication, presentation and interpersonal skills to be an effective spokesperson and evangelist for the company
- High degree of work ethics, professional transparency
