Food Safety & Quality Assurance Lead Hand – Bradford
The Opportunity:
As a Lead Hand on the FSQA team you will be responsible to support the FSQA Supervisors in ensuring the Quality Assurance and Food Safety programs and protocols are executed effectively at the facility.

A snap shot of some of the exciting things you will lead and do:
  • Provide leadership to ensure the company’s Food Safety and Quality Assurance Programs are implemented and maintained.
  • Knowledgeable of all tasks performed by the plant’s FSQA Technician’s including product quality monitoring and food safety regulatory tasks. Ability to back-up FSQA Technician’s on both day and afternoon shift.
  • Lead the Environmental Monitoring Program data collecting including planning TPC/ATP swab sites, collecting swabs, submitting swabs for analysis, and compiling results.
  • Assist in onboarding new FSQA technicians and providing training to FSQA staff on relevant job tasks (e.g. temperature monitoring, tool sterilization, etc.)
  • Lead by example in incorporating all food safety and quality practices within their work
  • Inspect production material for defects, make corrections, or remove defective items from production as needed. Report defects to the appropriate supervisor or manager.
  • Promote and advocate quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization.
  • Complete and maintain quality control documentation; including the monitoring and documentation of key quality indicators.
  • Complete record review and verification ensuring documents have been completed according to requirements. Escalate deviations as required.
  • Assist the HACCP Specialist as needed in completing on-site verifications to ensure programs are followed appropriately according to Standard Operating Procedures
  • Ensure all elements of the company Quality System are implemented and maintained with emphasis on product safety, regulatory compliance and product consistency.
  • Provide and support training to plant employees on Food Safety and Quality principles.
  • Assist in other FSQA tasks as assigned by FSQA Supervisor which may include, for example: supporting in traceability exercises, conducting product shelf life testing, assisting in deep cleaning investigations, participating in cross-function projects (e.g. Six Sigma, HSSE, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
What you will bring:
  • University degree or college diploma preferably in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science or a related discipline would be considered an asset
  • 1 to 3 years food related experience in areas of GMP and HACCP principles and programs
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong systems skills (including MS Office).
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset
