Senior Software Developer - IoT Security Innovation

Are you a few years into your software development role and ready to catapult your career in IoT?

JOIN our BlackBerry IVY Engineering team! We are an inclusive organization and rapidly growing our development team building an edge-first secure and intelligent in-vehicle data platform! Our IVY platform provides automakers with cloud-controlled access to vehicle data to produce insights through ML and share insights consistently with a global digital ecosystem of developers to deliver actionable value on vehicle data at scale.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Develop new software for automotive and enterprise use cases
  • Collaborate with other team members on software design, implementation, code reviews, and documentation
  • Work in a multi-functional team of guides, including other development, test, and customer support teams, who will craft the next generation of BlackBerry software products

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • 5+ years strong programming skills in C++, Python or Java
  • Experience working with one or more of: Linux, QNX, Android, Mac OS, Gerrit/Git, JIRA, Chrome, Confluence, and Agile Scrum
  • Ability to work optimally in a team as well as independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Curious self-starter with strong interpersonal and innovative skills
  • Strong skills for troubleshooting and problem solving with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with excellent time management and organization skills
  • A degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

ABOVE & BEYOND

  • Knowledge of (or interest in) automotive, IoT, data analytics, machine learning, cloud computing, and security
  • Previous experience with AWS, Docker, Thrift, Kubernetes, TensorFlow, Keras, and Jupyter
  • Willing to contribute to demos, hackathons, and wiki pages to help drive innovation across the organization
