PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

This position oversees the processing and auditing of all AAR Car Repair invoices (payables and receivables), as well the handling of Wrecked or Damaged railcars. The AAR Manager ensures timelines are met for the invoicing of all car repair invoices and settlements on a monthly basis as well as communicates billing opportunities or AAR Billing changes to the shops. 

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Provides leadership to the billing Coordinator and USW AAR Accounting Services Representatives – ensuring proper training and job resources are available. 
  • Supports Director Car Maintenance Planning in the coaching and education of AAR Rules to Mechanical employees and tracking of compliance and car repair billing exception handling.
  •  Works directly with Railinc and internal IS department in terms of changes to billing requirements involving CRMS and CRB
  • Responsible for performing periodic audits of car repair billing exceptions handled by the AAR Representatives, ensuring accuracy while minimizing counter billing authorities provided to car owners.
  • Provides AAR Representatives with daily or weekly objectives, ensuring all tasks are handled in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Supports Director Car Maintenance Planning by reviewing and performing necessary approvals or rejections to car repair invoices based on respective DOMA level.
  • Provides goodness of function leadership for billing coordinator processes, ensuring processes are in place for prompt auditing and processing of car repair billing invoices.
  • Car Repair Committee Representative
  • Provides mitigation to billing conflicts
  • Leads documentation retrieval for arbitration cases

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • University degree or diploma is preferred;
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in railcar or heavy equipment industries;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written);
  • Proven planning experience and initiative to drive for results with limited supervision;
  • Financial acumen and analysis;
  • Analytical/Statistical skills;
  • Risk evaluation skills;
  • Facilitation skills at an intergroup level, which may involve group on group observation and feedback;
  • Ability to influence;
  • Familiar with Microsoft and CP suite of applications;

Management Conductor Program:
