Job Description:

We are continuing to evolve how we attract and engage our clients. For a journey this exciting and complex, we’re looking for someone who can combine expert business analysis skills, a strong technical aptitude, a strategic mindset, diplomatic facilitation, and leadership skills to elicit and build requirements that enable exceptional solutions for our business partners and clients.

What Will You Do?

• Lead and manage ambiguous work to understand what problem we are trying to solve, client needs/goals and define scope.  Includes delivering design thinking solutioning and user stories.    

• Understand big picture to enable defining business capabilities and go forward roadmap

• Conduct analysis on business requests with a focus on the links between processes and systems throughout the organization and document accordingly.  

• Partner and develop strong relationships with technical and business people. 

• Lead, motivate, support, and coach team members and peers by providing guidance that is appropriate for their knowledge and skill level.

• Understand the technical and operational challenges and objectives that may impact the rollout of an application/process. Use that to drive discussions about solutions and risk mitigation.

• Contribute and grow the BSA practice.     

What Do You Need To Succeed?

• An expert in the application of business analysis core competencies with at least 5 years of wealth experience  using a variety of methodologies including Agile/Kanban.  

• A strong communicator who listens and picks up on the spoken and unspoken words to excel at delivering, understanding, and interpreting messages through verbal discussions and in writing.  

• A talented facilitator who is skilled in negotiation and influencing divergent needs amongst stakeholders. 

• A strategic thinker who appropriately applies a variety of planning, analysis, elicitation, modelling, design thinking and documentation techniques to accurately define and communicate requirements to help successfully deliver on initiatives.

• A collaborative team member who continuously strives to improve the client experience, our team, and our processes.

• Ideally, we’ll also get somebody with one or more of the following:

  • Wealth industry knowledge;

  • A College or University degree, preferably in Information Technology, Business Systems Analysis or equivalent experience;

  • A technical aptitude and curiosity

  • Vendor experience ie. RFP/RFI, fit/scoring

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.  It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.  In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.  Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
