Job Summary

Here is your opportunity to bring your expertise in Digital Printing.  

This role requires strong technical knowledge in the digital printing industry, someone who can work in a fast paced Print and Mail Production environment and has the ability to multitask.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate Konica, Xerox or Ricoh Production Digital Colour and B/W Printers.
  • Operate Large Format Hybrid and Roll to Roll printing equipment.
  • Operate Large Format Laminating Roll to Roll equipment.
  • Operate Summa Vinyl Cutter or equivalent
  • Operate Kala Applicator Table or equivalent
  • Calibrate equipment; Set up special colours; Set up and monitor print jobs including load balancing and job splitting.
  • Set up workflows with specific functionality.
  • Repair customer supplied files.
  • Prepare addressing files for printing;
  • Prepare file for variable data output and / or postal sorting.
  • Provide assistance to other operators.
  • Scan and digitize records.
  • Operate Baum 20 Pile Feed Floor model folder or equivalent.
  • Operate Bell and Howell Mailstar Six station Inserter or equivalent.
  • Perform all Bindery functions incumbent to Print and Mail Production environments.
  • Record accurately all labour time and material used.
  • Open dockets and ship jobs as required.
  • Ship finished jobs.
  • Other, related duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma or 5 years minimum experience in printing and mail environments, or a combination of education and related experience required.

 

Minimum 5yrs experience in below:

  • High speed digital B/W and Colour production printers.
  • Large Format printing and finishing equipment.
  • Workflow automation software.
  • Command Workstation or equivalent necessary.
  • Onyx Large Format RIP or equivalent highly preferred.
  • Free Flow Print Server, Free Flow Make-ready considered an asset.
  • File preparation for multiple output devices.
  • Advanced knowledge of Acrobat Pro.
  • Knowledge of graphics industry design programs; Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator considered an asset.
  • File set up for variable data output.
  • Knowledge of Rembrandt, Street Sweeper, and Microsoft Access programs considered an asset.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Operations of Inserters; Six Station Bell and Howell or similar considered an asset.
  • Experienced in Operation of all relevant Print Production Bindery and Mail environment equipment.
  • Attention to details, accurate record keeping, flexibility, adaptability, and ability to multi-task are essential.
  • Able to lift 50lbs packages several times throughout the day

Hourly Rate/Salary: $ 55,679.00 - $ 74,241.00 
Hours of Work: 35
