Purpose
Responsible for supporting the management and delivery of Private Banking learning programs and changes across all delivery modalities including, but not limited to, virtual classes, face to face classes, eLearning,

simulations, podcasts, learning plans and guides, leader guides, and job shadow guides. The Specialist will work with internal and external partners and business stakeholders to implement identified changes. This role wil also fulfill the program reporting needs and work with the appropriate HR Services group as required.

Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for implementation of content maintenance and integration of new content and alignment to new strategies and ongoing learning experience and delivery modernization
  • Contributes to the design of learning programs that support a customer focused culture across the Private Banking network
  • Coordinates with the Learning COE and Learning Management System teams on the implementation of complex and large content creation and/or changes to the existing content in accordance with established guidelines and standards
  • Provides ongoing support to the Senior Manager with training content details, reporting on content updates, collaborating with partners in Private Banking, Canadian Banking, RBSC, Contact Centre, product, and technology groups to obtain support and information when required
  • Prepares presentations for Senior Manager, senior audiences and partners when required
  • Develops visuals including learning journey maps, infographics, podcasts, etc. to support learning methodologies and delivery strategies Assesses impacts, dependencies, and trade-offs across all learning programs when managing and making changes to the content library, taking all learning assets and the different modalities into consideration
  • Creates communications when required and evaluation plans for learning programs and assists in the implementation across the network
  • Develops and maintains websites in accordance with the bank standards and guidelines
  • Manages the learning program pages across various sites, including day-to-day maintenance, document upload and working with respective partners
  • Works with Learning COE and HR Services to set-up and maintain learning assets and to establish cadence of reports and data from Learning Management System
  • Creates and maintains internal learning reports and dashboards
  • Maintains training surveys and shares related insights 
  • Actions and responds to requests received via email inboxes
  • Supports and delivers virtual orientation sessions and other learning and development sessions as required
  • Monitors market leading trends and learning best practices to propose enhancements to the learning experience.
  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-today business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education / Experience

  • 3 years Retail or Commercial banking experience
  • University or community college degree preferred
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, and design and development principles
  • Thorough knowledge of Bank products, services, policies, and procedures
  • Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe, and Presentations
  • Experience working with HTML, Illustrator, Photoshop is an asset
