Intern, Mechanical Drafting

Start Date: May 2022

End Date: August 2022

Location: flexible remote or on-site, Edmonton

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the preparation of project documents such as Incentive Reports, Scope of Work, HVAC studies, and Request for Proposals etc.
  • Development and improvement of Sustainability design tools.
  • Continuous support for ongoing projects.
  • Ability to read and edit plans in autocad.
  • Support in HVAC system design projects.
  • Preparation of client specific templates for drawings and other reports.

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent related discipline
  • Must be in at least 2nd year of study.
  • Open to both current students who will be returning to their in-class studies upon the completion of the work term, and recent graduates who have completed their studies within the past two years.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent knowledge and experience with Autocad
  • Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
  • Strong organizational skills demonstrated through extracurricular activities/interests
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to maintain strong working relationships
  • Work independently as well as a part of a team
  • Strong customer focus and a total commitment to customer satisfaction

Desired:

  • Previous co-op experience or school projects in HVAC/Plumbing/Electrical or a related industry, an asset
  • Familiarity with Energy Modelling software, an asset
  • Familiarity with data storage structures and one drive, an asset
  • Experience with food plant or oil field designs, an asset
