Job Description:

As a Talent Acquisition Consultant, you will be advising business leaders in our Digital Solutions & Technology Business and Finance teams on recruitment strategies to attract, select, and hire top talent.

You will have the opportunity to contribute and execute the talent acquisition strategy, process and delivery at Sun Life in a variety of business lines.  We offer a ‘flexible’ work environment.  This means employees will not be required to work from the office any minimum or maximum number of days. Instead, by using Client and business needs as a guide, employees will choose where they work at any given time based on the activities they need to complete.   

What will you do?

This is a role for the experienced recruiter who:  

  • Strengthens relationships with hiring managers (build trust, inspire confidence, earn respect) 

  • Anticipates future talent and skill needs based on deep understanding of business strategy and direction 

  • Proactively builds, nurture and engage talent communities within and outside of Sun Life 

  • Knows their markets – both internal and external; where talent and skills are available, and, when sparse, where to find quality candidates 

  • Provides market intelligence and insight to develop sourcing and recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent

  • Conducts industry research, keeping abreast of the latest news and trends of the recruitment world

  • Supports Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and understands the positive impact it has on company culture and the businesses bottom line 

  • Continuously looks to improve candidate, new hire, hiring manager and recruiter experience while being a true talent advisor

What do you need to succeed?  

  • 3+ years experience talent sourcing/recruiting for roles with proven success metrics, either in-house or agency 

  • Strong Talent Scout capabilities to find top talent by leveraging social networks, research tools, as well as other creative techniques

  • Skilled in relationship building; possesses skills to quickly establish trust, credibility and effectively manage others through influence 

  • Flexible and resilient; able to adapt to multiple demands, shifting priorities and changing business conditions 

  • Data-driven in everything you do; you take pride in data quality and data integrity 

  • Intellectual curiosity with a passion for trying new methods and challenging the status quo 

  • Proactive, Self-motivated, confident and able to work effectively with little supervision 

  • Experience with technology and an applicant tracking tool Workday strongly preferred 

Preferred experience 

  • Experience with Workday Recruiting (Applicant Tracking System) 

  • Experience using a Candidate Relationship Management System (CRM) 

  • Experience hiring for one of three: IT, Digital and Finance

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.  It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.  In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.  Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
