Position: 15 Month Contract , Weekend Anchor/Reporter, CP24, Unifor 723M

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Location: 299 Queen St., Toronto

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Overtime as required. Nights and weekends as required.

 

CP24 – Toronto’s Breaking News – is looking for an experienced News Anchor. An accomplished journalist, you will bring credibility and solid news judgment to the role.  The successful candidate will have outstanding on-air presentation skills and a track record for anchoring live breaking news events.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Anchoring news on CP24
  • Handling live breaking news segments
  • Interviewing guests/panels live
  • Reporting inset and in the field
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum ten years of experience as a News Anchor/Reporter in a major market
  • Outstanding news presentation skills
  • Solid news judgment, writing, research and production skills
  • Strong interview skills
  • Thrives doing live television, especially breaking news
  • Proven ability to handle stressful situations and tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of Toronto and GTA
  • Strong team player
  • Ontario G licence

 

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
