Job Description:

Under the direction of the Chair, the incumbent is responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of health and safety standards, laboratory equipment and associated software programs in Respiratory Therapy, Cardiovascular Technology and Sonography programs.
The incumbent:
Provides oversight for all laboratory supplies and equipment
Maintains laboratory schedules
Sets up and tears down laboratory sessions
Orients professors in usage of laboratory equipment.
Collaborates with professors in respiratory therapy simulation-based learning activities
Supports technical instruction to students
Maintains equipment inventory
Required Qualifications
Three (3) year Diploma in Respiratory Therapy with Professional certification or equivalent as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Minimum of five (5) years experience as a Respiratory Therapist in an acute care facility, which preferably includes oversight of equipment maintenance and repairs, software applications in a laboratory setting and inventory monitoring and simulation-based learning
CPR, WHMIS and First Aid must be current throughout tenure
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Well-developed verbal and writing skills to effectively communicate with staff and students
