SUMMARY 

The BAS Operating Technologist Team Lead is responsible for ensuring that the BAS Operating Technologists exceed the quality control targets and service level agreements as related to the 24/7 Remote Command Centre services. Team Lead will ensure that team members have the tools and training necessary to accomplish their objectives and the team is staffed appropriately. Team Lead will also support RCC Project work by preparing proposals and managing project execution. Lastly, the Team Lead will step in and perform the BAS Technologist work during peak hours to relief overflows or unexpected absentees.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

Project Support

  • Create proposal for project work approval.
  • Coordinate and execute project implementation for approved project.
  • Manage Project Management tools and documentations, and project budget and timeline.
  • Project final commissioning approval and transition to switch projects from installation phase to on-going operation.
  • Manage call out changes with Data Governance Team to match service workflow requirements.

On-going Operations

  • Review and monitor service level measurements and KPI reports to ensure contract requirements are exceeded. Measure the quality of day to day operations and implement strategies and corrective action plans for addressing performance issues when required.
  • Manage, prioritize and respond to customer complaints and related service delivery issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Provide operational support to BAS Operating Technologists.
  • Create, document and implement new process for new services as needed. Monitor ongoing compliance.
  • Develop, document and implement training programs aligned with the requirements of internal and external customers.
  • Ensure self and team meet quality and services targets, complies with BGIS policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Highlight and follow up with the manager on any issues raised within the day to day operations.

Client Relations

  • Occasional direct client interactions during project execution and when resolving service complaints.
  • Focus on driving positive client relations through all manner of work.

Administration

  • Manage project documentation and department process and operational handbook.

Work hours

  • Rotating On-Call during Weekend after a 5 day work week.
  • Occasional night hours to support night team.
  • Occasional non-regular shift hours to back up sudden absentees.
  • Accessible by phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 day a year to provide occasional support to the Team as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • College Diploma in a related discipline.

 

  • Remote BAS operation for multiple facilities. (4 years)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with BAS navigation, data-trend setting and extractions, trouble shooting.    (4 years)
  • Medium to advance skills in word processing and spreadsheet data manipulation and analysis tools. (5 years)
  • Familiar with integration concepts and platforms such as BACnet systems. (1 year)
  • Operational experience in fault detection platform. (Asset)
  • Good knowledge of optimization and energy management strategy for BAS. (3 years)
  • Strong ability to adhere and to properly execute processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance. (4 years)
  • Strong client-service orientation, superior customer service skills along with a high sense of urgency. (4 years)
  • Effective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification.     (4 years)
  • Mentoring skills required to support Junior BAS Operator development. (1 year)
  • Bilingualism. (Asset)
  • Clear and effective communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptability to changing process.
  • Advanced leadership, strong diplomacy and mentoring skills. Empathetic towards limitations, yet effective in driving highest potential.
  • A strong sense of ownership and responsibility.

  • Strong computer navigation comfort level, using multiple windows, monitors and applications simultaneously.
  • Microsoft apps: Excel, Words, and Power Point.

Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation

  • Valid drivers’ license.
