SUMMARY 

As part of the Workplace Advisory (WA) team the Director is responsible for the Centers of Excellence as a strategic consultant supporting BGIS account teams in delivering value to their clients. The Director role provides subject matter expertise in the area of Workplace Solutions including thought leadership and operational oversight for workplace strategy, workplace experience, workplace technologies, and workplace change management. This role is responsible for supporting the BGIS account leaders and their teams in delivering workplace services in accordance with existing contracts as well as with new prospective accounts and/or new services to an existing account.

Through close partnership with account leaders, this position will collaborate with internal stakeholders across all areas of workplace services to support the sales strategy including but not limited to opportunity assessment, business case development, model development, costing, proposal content development and presentation, pricing and negotiation.

The measures of success for this role include, but are not limited to, revenue and margin growth, thought leadership in the market, bringing innovative solutions to clients, and likelihood to recommend by our clients based on value-added support.

This role supports multiple client accounts mostly in Canada, and as required, in the United States and Globally. The Senior Director, Strategic Workplace Solutions will work at multiple client locations as well as BGIS offices as required to best deliver solutions, complete tasks and provide effective client and account team support. 

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

Thought Leadership

  • Works closely and effectively with account leaders and their teams in providing subject matter expertise and thought leadership in Workplace Solutions to identify and develop solutions for BGIS customers. Strive for 100% client likelihood to recommend BGIS to other clients. Ensure overall client satisfaction for developed solutions and required deliverables.
  • Provide strategic support to the account teams as required and requested including workplace coaching, health checks, troubleshooting, MSA renewals, job profiles, skills competencies, knowledge sharing, marketing collateral, pricing methodology and approach, etc.
  • Collaborate with other WA subject matter experts as required, to successfully deliver solutions for the purpose of growing revenues and profitability within the assigned accounts including: Workplace Strategy, Workplace Experience, Workplace Technologies, Drawing & Occupancy Management, and Change Management.

Business Development

  • Drive business development by building webinars, presentations, case studies, white papers and other thought leadership tools and collaterals to ultimately grow revenue and profitability within accounts and prospective accounts.
  • Overall accountability for preparation and execution of RFP’s including opportunity assessment, presentations, business case development, model development, costing, pricing and negotiation.
  • Create effective tools for business case development including presentations, model development, costing for budget development, pricing, and schedule development for Workplace Solutions.
  • Actively seek additional project work or scope expansion to benefit the client and BGIS.

Client Relationship

  • Effective and proactive communication with all relevant stakeholders including account team members, clients, contractors, and industry bodies (as required) to ensure client satisfaction and BGIS’s success.
  • Actively network within the industry to develop contacts for the purpose of building the BGIS brand, identifying new client opportunities, as well as increasing industry knowledge and expertise.
  • Promote thought leadership and create business development materials.  

People Leadership

  • Full involvement with recruiting talent.
  • Provides mentoring, coaching and guidance to all team members.
  • Objectively recommends compensation adjustments.
  • Manages all aspects of performance.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Master’s or University degree in business, interior design, organizational development, or equivalent years of experience.
  • Proactive and driven.
  • Effective people and client relationship management skills.
  • Ten (10) years’ experience related to industry standards and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of facilities and corporate real estate industry, specifically Workplace Solutions e.g., Workplace Strategy, Occupancy Planning and Change Management.  
  • Strategic skills – creative thinking, planning, curiosity, visionary.
  • Conceptual skills - visioning (services and client program needs) and problem solving (innovative solutions).
  • Experience in consultative discovery and facilitation.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, especially communication (verbal / written) and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical skills in business case development and process management.
  • Experience with project scope development, documentation and management including costing, pricing, schedule, time and budget management to project constraints.
  • Exceptional presentation skills, both in person and virtual.
  • Specific experience and knowledge related to the assignment – churn, facility infrastructures, new construction, furniture, occupancy planning & management, interior design, workplace strategy, change management, IWMS, etc.
  • Software proficiencies depending on assignment – Excel, MS Project, Power point, email. AutoCAD and IWMS knowledge is an asset.
  • Bilingual (written and verbal) in French and English is an asset.

Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation

  • None Required.
  • Change Management (Prosci or other recognized accreditation) preferred.
  • MCR or MCR-W is considered a bonus.
