Key Ways This Position Makes An Impact
The Manager, Labour Relations provides leadership in designing and implementing strategies and programs related to labour relations and ability management, leading a team of professionals by providing regular coaching and leadership, and supporting initiatives across HR to meet departmental objectives. This role plays a lead role in creating, negotiating, and implementing COVID-19 related policies and agreements.
In this role, you will work with a tactical plan in line with corporate objectives, work to ensure the PBC strategic plan is met, and provide business leaders with guidance around performance management, labour relations, and employee wellness.
This role will work on assessing business needs and help develop HR policies, programs, and strategies to meet those needs. Providing coaching and support to business leaders by using these practices will help with labour relations issues, performance management, disability and attendance management, grievance resolution, and progressive discipline.
You would manage the grievance procedure, prepare for arbitration and Tribunal hearings and prepare Letters of Agreement for the Collective Agreement.
This role would help develop and implement strategies to help with ability (disability) management by working with the Ability Management Advisor and being on committees related to health of employees.
In this role, you would handle escalated client issues and assist employees dealing with difficult inquiries from all stakeholders.
