Does working with a team that supports the fast-paced world of commodity trading in the companies Supply, Trading, and Optimization (ST&O) business area sound exciting?  In this role, you will play a crucial role supporting critical business processes in SAP S/4 as a member of a highly dynamic and self-organizing product team while collaborating directly with Business and other supporting teams like Enterprise Process & Data, Cyber Security, Enterprise Architecture, and Integration Services.  You will have the opportunity to provide coaching and training to Business end-users as required developing and enhancing their hands-on system skills.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Support companies Manage Supply and Products business process (Product 2 Cash), implemented in SAP S/4, focused primarily on the Supply, Trading & Optimization (ST&O) business area.
  • Gain an understanding of the business process and the ST&O SAP S/4 landscape in the areas of Supply / Trading Pricing, Operational Master Data, Scheduling, Commercial Transaction Execution Capture, Secondary / Logistics Costs – Sales & Distribution.
  • Support and configure business processes leveraging SAP modules IS-Oil TSW, IPW, Contracts / Exchanges, Materials and Inventory Management (MM / IM).
  • Work collaboratively with product team members supporting the integrations between SAP and other business applications within the ST&O business application landscape.   
  • Provide leadership, managing the resolution process of critical, high-priority issues in live production systems.
  • Proficiently resolve complex business / system problems quickly and effectively, either individually or by leading a team.
  • Participate in the design, development, testing, implementation, and utilization of new business processes / solutions.
  • Experience working and collaborating within an Agile team mindset while contributing to the planning and prioritization of work.
  • Ability to facilitate, coordinate and engage key business stakeholders to gather requirements for small enhancements and deliver business process documentation, training where needed or for new/changed functionality
  • Participate and support software patches and upgrades within the application landscape

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • 5+ years of related SAP experience supporting Oil & Gas Downstream and/or Upstream business processes
  • A related Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or Computer Science and/or combination of other education and equivalent work experience
  • Experience in multiple SAP functional areas such as SAP Finance, SAP Finance Supply Chain Management (FSCM), SAP Material Management, SAP Plant Maintenance or others.
  • Project delivery mindset - setting the priorities, stakeholder and budget management
  • Ability to understand complex business processes and translate them to digital solutions
  • Knowledge of the enabling system functionality
  • Understanding of the importance of change management
  • Strong knowledge of SAP Security
  • Contributes to developing goal content and priorities by applying the good understanding of business priorities
  • Independently resolves problems of limited scope quickly and effectively through a strong understanding of business process area with system functionality, problem management
  • Strong knowledge of one or more business process areas like pricing, taxes, billing, and IS-Oil (RFNO, TSW, EXG)
  • Exceptional ability to influence without authority, coach and develop diverse groups with sound communications

Preference for:

  • Business and technical experience supporting and enhancing business processes implemented in SAP S/4 in the area of credit risk, trading or finance
  • SAP related certifications (S4 HANA) or equivalent designation’s
  • Agile experience with delivery into enterprise organizations with familiarity of agile mindset

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
