Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of the CCC – National Operations, MIS and Analytics in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Accountabilities 

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Create, review and maintain/distribute of necessary reporting required to achieve key performance indicators, service level agreement and operational business controls.
  • Create and maintain reporting necessary to achieve RISA contractual service levels and identified compliance/regulatory controls.
  • Develop and maintain reports for the senior leadership team and frontline managers aligned with the strategic objectives.
  • Create and maintain the governance model for the online reporting portals (including documentation and set up controls)
  • Provide analysis of business data using spreadsheet and database tools Work closely with team members, business partners, and management to clearly understand business and/or data requirements to provide intuitive files/reporting in user friendly format. Maintaining nationwide scorecards, ad-hoc reports etc.
  • Develop and maintain complex databases and reporting to support Department needs. This will include current reporting and future developments aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Prepare spreadsheets/reports for trending info/analysis, obtaining and reviewing explanations for discrepancies as well as preparing management reports for review which includes analysis and recommendations.  This includes providing analytical support in the implementation or review of new/existing projects, systems, processes and technology as well as assisting in the delivery and implementation of solutions as required. 
  • Interpersonal skills, with an ability to maintain strong and influential relationships with business area managers and executives. 
  • In depth knowledge of business related computer software specifically Data Warehouse methodology, MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word (data import/export), VISIO.
  • Manage and support analysis for a variety of ad-hoc and recurring reports.
  • Perform as a trusted business advisor and provide consultations to requestors regarding data collection strategies, targeted search items, scoping parameters and recommend effective new strategies as required.

  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education / Experience

  • Information Systems Management Certificate.
  • Degree in Bachelor of Commerce
  • Excel programming and Microsoft Access skills including queries, forms, reports and macros
  • Reporting design and solutioning experience preferably in Power BI
  • Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies and experience working in Scrum environment (Jira and Confluence)
  • Strong communication skills essential with clients, vendors and management
  • Strong prioritizing, planning, analytical, presentation and relationship building skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Skilled background in statistical and quantitative analysis
  • Proficiency in using MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint), visual basic/excel macros knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Knowledge of CCC processes and systems
  • 10 years of experience in Data Analytics and Business Analysis
  • 8+ years banking experience.
