Purpose

  • Acts as the primary communications conduit between Scotia iTRADE and key stakeholders, ensuring that  internal teams and partners are well connected to all key strategic initiatives, projects, and programs underway.
  • Responsible for defining and building a scalable communications framework to ensure timely and effective messaging that supports executive, partner and client needs.
  • Ensures the seamless delivery & execution of Scotia iTRADE initiatives in support of business strategies, plans and objectives in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for managing and executing initiatives designed to; improve client and internal business communication, provide strategic updates and deliver projects using a change management framework to identify and mitigate internal and external change management impacts.

 

Accountabilities

 

Communications Management:

  • Manage and execute communication requirements and key messages to increase understanding of Scotia iTRADE strategy and business priorities with internal team, partners and stakeholders
  • Coordinate and  implement communications plans for Scotia iTRADE initiatives, projects, and programs with internal and external clients
  • Manage a centralized communications calendar across Scotia iTRADE to ensure the appropriate cadence and coordination of messages
  • Manage the day to day process for the communications framework within Scotia iTRADE to ensure effective integration across programs and initiatives where required

 

Change Management:

  • Manage and execute on the department’s strategic change management plan using a variety of support tools and templates, to manage the development and execution of the change management deliverables.
  • Support the cultural shift required to align with the business strategy and to drive client acquisition and Scotia iTRADE awareness and education.
  • Provide day-to-day management of change management plans, including working with Wealth Business Line, Scotia iTRADE, Marketing, Analytics, and technology teams to deliver effective materials to partners  
  • Prepares/ensures completion of monthly executive dashboard updates for all assigned projects

 

Executive Support:

  • Supports Scotia iTRADE business updates, dashboards, executive decks, employee engagement initiatives, ScotiaPulse action planning and business strategy planning for KPIs and targets.
  • Supports and plans full department events (e.g., Town Halls) focused on strategy and project communications and the organization of strategic offsites/conferences for leadership.

 

Relationship Management

  • Ensure inter-workstream (cross-functional) dependencies and considerations are identified and appropriately managed or planned for; establishes project milestones
  • Own integrated project plan, status reporting, and issue and risk management for the integrated project (identify, document, support/develop resolutions and mitigations), and appropriately communicate to program leadership within the documented governance structure, reporting process and escalation protocol
  • Chair Project Status meetings; support Work Stream meetings as required; schedule meetings as necessary

 

Message Development

  • Develop a single “voice” for Scotia iTRADE to ensure consistency of message, including tone, terminology, format, and overall style
  • Utilize key messages, impact assessments, and benefits to develop communications materials internal and external stakeholders and clients, taking a proactive, timely, and customer-centric approach
  • Coordinate review and approval across key stakeholders including work back schedules and publication timelines to ensure timely execution; Provide strong editorial support for conte

Education / Experience / Other Information (include only those that are specific to the role)

 

  • A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process
  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent active listening skills
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
