The Bank’s Global Innovation team is responsible for identifying, creating, and validating innovative business and technology solutions that will support business strategies.  The team partners with the global innovation ecosystem (fintechs, accelerators, incubators, universities) and internal stakeholders to conduct proofs-of-value, create new business models and develop digital capabilities.

 

The Senior UX Design Researcher will be responsible for leading all aspects of customer design research.  The role is critical for understanding customer behaviour and pain points, which are the foundation of building customer centric digital solutions and prototypes.  The individual will also contribute to the product design of prototypes of business solutions.  The UX Researcher will collaborate very closely with Product Directors, Technology, and facilitate research and subsequent analysis and insights.

In addition, there will be extensive opportunities to interact and build relationships with the innovation ecosystem (Fintechs, accelerators, incubators and universities). 

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • You will collaborate with Product teams, Business Lines and the innovation ecosystem to understand customer problem spaces and business opportunities
  • You will design and lead the execution customer research (interview and analysis) that will enable the Bank to understand customer pain points and behaviours
  • You will analyze results of research and produce actionable insights for product development
  • Based on research findings, you will collaborate with product, business, and technology teams to ideate and build proofs-of-concept and prototypes that solve business problems and create new opportunities, e.g. customer acquisition, improved customer experience, revenue generation
  • You will iterate on product development by having a continuous loop of research and validation with customers
  • You will support all design aspects and review wireframes and story boards for digital products and provide strategic design direction to ensure products are consistent with research findings and customer needs
  • You will support product-level designers through mentoring, feedback, and product design 


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of UX Design Research within the consumer or Financial Services industry
  • Deep experience creating and executing research initiatives focused on solving consumer pain points or identifying green field opportunities
  • You’ve conducted user research, usability testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping 
  • You’re familiar with agile software development process 
  • You’re able to design clearly and creatively to guide the team 
  • You’re an ambitious self-starter who is self-motivated, but also a great teammate with a professional presence 
  • You possess strong interpersonal skills with ability to articulate and optimize design based on the value to the user and the business 
  • You’re able to work effectively in a team setting including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications 
  • You display a strong sense of accountability for solutions to ensure the user has advocacy 
  • You’re open to learning new ideas outside scope or knowledge skillset to span across UI design, strategy and testing 
  • You’re passionate about resolving user pain points through phenomenal design 
  • You recognize value in iterative approach to design
