The Talent Acquisition Manager will report directly to the Director, Global Talent Acquisition. In this role, the manager takes a lead role in planning, managing, and measuring recruiting's ongoing success, while concurrently supporting the development of proactive talent strategies to ensure targeted pipeline development in support of Business Operating Unit (BOU)-specific hiring needs. This role is both a requisition-bearing people leader position and a valued strategic partner opportunity.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Leads a team of BOU-specific Talent Acquisition Consultants (TACs) and carries a requisition load to support overall tactical demands, as required.
  • Partners with Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs) and business leaders to develop insights into clients' talent needs to support ongoing and future BOU-specific business strategies.
  • Develops a trusted advisor relationship with our clients, measured by Hiring Manager Satisfaction Survey results, and mid-year/year-end formal feedback mechanisms.
  • Works, in partnership with HRBPs, to conduct talent business reviews (to identify gaps/external market talent requirements), closely aligning our Talent Acquisition (TA) activities with BOU business strategies.
  • Serves as an internal subject matter expert who proposes creative, viable talent solutions to BOU Leadership and ensures that critical success issues are addressed on a proactive basis.
  • Articulates and formally presents talent planning/market intelligence roadmaps to clients, demonstrating how these align with human capital management trends and their overarching BOU business objectives.
  • Manages day-to-day BOU recruiting activities, effectively managing any TA-related roadblocks and escalation(s) within assigned BOU's to resolution.
  • Consistently delivers required TA results; sets and achieves realistic yet stretch goals; consistently complies with quality service, productivity standards, and meets deadlines; focused on the company's talent goals.
  • Leads various ad hoc TA projects that enable our people to optimize work efforts, improve delivery consistency, and continue to drive team engagement within an inspired 'one team culture.
  • Creates opportunities for cross-pollination of knowledge transfer and working as 'one team.'
  • Collaborates with TA Technology & Program Manager to optimize all Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and talent acquisition tools, systems, and resources.
  • Plans and executes proactive talent pipelining, market research, competitor intelligence and strategic sourcing activities including leveraging Stantec’s Sourcing and Research team.
  • Works with Inclusion & Diversity (I&D) team to understand organizational diversity goals and develop & drive global outreach strategies to establish talent pipelines/talent pools. (i.e., 3rd party associations, career fairs, community I&D groups, internal ERG's, etc.)
  • Provides regular status updates to key stakeholders and addresses any issues that could potentially jeopardize agreed-upon recruitment Service Level Partnerships.
  • Maintains operational effectiveness & compliance by guiding TACs regarding relevant changes to employment policies, practices, and procedures.

  • High to expert level of proficiency in the following software: Taleo preferred or other ATS and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience working within the architecture, engineering, construction industry, or professional services environment (strongly) preferred.
  • Designations such as RPR, PHR, CHRP, AIRS, or LinkedIn Certified Professional Recruiter are an asset but not required.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Human Resources, Business, Liberal Arts, or related field.

Minimum of ten years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

At least three years of experience managing others preferred.
