Job Summary

You will use your strong data management skills to work on mid to large complex risks.  You will be consulting daily with Market Facing Underwriters and Underwriting Leadership – developing your knowledge of various property and casualty products with the accountability to resolve complex pricing problems.   You will be sharing your analysis, recommendations, and conclusions to Underwriting Leadership, you will mentor junior actuarial staff and market facing underwriters.

This role is highly influential and will directly impact our ability to attract and retain business.

 

Job Qualifications

Required:
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associates Degree

OR
• Bachelors Degree

AND
• 8 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area plus FCAS or equivalent international certification

OR
• 13 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area plus ACAS or equivalent international certification


Preferred:
• Experience in multiple functional areas (pricing, reserving, capital management) and knowledge/skills reflective of a senior practitioner
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

 

Job Accountabilities - Key Accountabilities

 

Supporting our market facing underwriters and leadership in continued growth and profitability of Large Casualty Pricing new and renewal Large Casualty Accounts

Working with actuarial colleagues across the line of business pricing functions, finance actuaries, financial analysts, US programs/MGA actuaries, and more
 

Key Accountabilities:

Calculate premiums and/or reserves for new and/or existing products
Review summary datasets
Perform


statistical analysis
Research and
analyze loss experience, loss trends and expenses
Research and
analyze
loss and expense reserves
Support the development of rates, rating plans and pricing and portfolio management strategies.
Develop rate indications and evaluate pricing levels
Provide guidance to and review work of less experienced actuaries
