Job Description:

Reporting to the Manager of Community and Student Affairs at the Pembroke Campus, the Administrative Assistant/Financial Officer has a multi-faceted role that supports the effective operations of the department through the provision of administrative support and financial tracking of budgets. Primarily, the incumbent’s duties include department human resources and financial processes; monitoring of budgets and inputting them on Adaptive Insights, providing administrative support to the campus’ Employment Ontario programs and government contracts; event planning and implementation; the creation of marketing materials; practicing effective client service principles and providing support to students.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-year College Diploma in Office-Administration-Executive or Business Administration

  • 5-years experience in office administration in a complex office environment, expertise required in accounting and/or budget analysis; event planning and implementation; marketing principles; managing day-to-day operations; and previous experience working within confidential work settings.

  • Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)

  • Experience working in Adaptive Insights and WorkDay would be an asset

  • Experience working in a budgeting/financial monitoring role within government funded programs

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Highly organized

  • Works well within a team environment

  • Excellent communications skills (written and oral)

  • Valid Class G Ontario Driver's license
