Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG), a leading, innovative and client-focused law firm in Canada, is seeking a Coordinator, Project Management Office. Purpose of the Role The Coordinator, PMO will be expected to act as the source of documentation and metrics on the practice of project management and execution for the Project Management Office (PMO). This role will support the successful delivery of projects undertaken by the PMO through effective facilitation, tracking and reporting. This role will also assist in the management of key initiatives and projects supporting the strategic objectives of the Firm and the PMO. Key Responsibilities The key responsibilities of this role are: Assist the Director, PMO using project management disciplines and approaches within a fast-paced environment Act as a reference point for PMO queries and information and an advocate for best practices in project management Maintain processes to ensure project management documentation, reports and plans are relevant, accurate and complete Produce reports for the Director, PMO which include project status and health, resource availability, cost management and performance metrics. Take minutes of meeting for various project and PMO meetings Track and report on project portfolio performance, providing a real-time, comprehensive, and prioritized view of all projects Provide assistance to maintain and update the project management framework and disciplines necessary to support the PMO Support the PMO’s document management sites Develop positive relationships with all stakeholders to enable the support of the PMO team including facilitation, tracking and reporting on projects Assist the project team with delivery of internal communications Understand the deliverables of the PMO and contribute to success through cooperative and collegial processes Develop and maintain an understanding of the Firm’s policies and procedures as relevant to PMO processes Required to carry out any other related duties as assigned Key Competencies Minimum undergraduate degree Project management certification, e.g. PMP an asset Proven PMO/Project Analyst, Project Coordinator or Administrator experience and knowledge of project management Understanding of the project management principles and frameworks from a support perspective Proven experience in providing service to internal stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes Understanding of project delivery and acceptance processes within a fast-paced professional services environment Comfort with project cost accounting principles and application Demonstrated capability for problem solving, decision making, and sound judgment Strong professional presence and ability to uphold the Firm’s standards of business and personal conduct Ability to maintain a high level of strict confidentiality Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills Strong collaboration and team skills Self-motivated & self-sufficient with a can do attitude and willingness to go the extra mile when required Experienced user of MS Project and other MS Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Visio) How to Apply We thank all applicants for their interest in this position, however, only applicants selected for an interview will be contacted.
