We are now recruiting for a Data Architect in our Information and Technology Services team. The role will be working hybrid from our head office in Burnaby, BC. Apply this week if you would like to take on this role.

Key Ways This Position Makes An Impact

The Data Architect is a strong advocate of data modeling methodologies and data processing best practices.

In this role, you will develop and deliver long-term strategic goals for data architecture vision and standards in conjunction with fellow Architect, data users, program managers, project teams and other key stakeholders. You will create short-term tactical solutions to achieve long-term objectives that contribute to the overall data management roadmap.

This role oversees solution data-related problems, identifies and develops opportunities for data reuse, migration or retirement, and works with business users to define technical requirements by performing business analysis.

You would help jump-start development of new initiatives and by researching and adopting new technologies.

This role would also provide mentorship to the development and implementation teams and working with project management to identify and mitigate data architecture risks.

Key Experiences You Bring To This Role

  • Minimum five years previous related experience working in data architecture or advanced analytics
  • Extensive experience in all levels of data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical) and enterprise data integration patterns and techniques
  • Experience with data architecting, data mining, large-scale data modeling, and business requirements gathering/analysis
  • Expertise in Informatica PowerCenter and Informatica Data Quality
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise technology stack, SQL, and T-SQL
  • Working experience using Tableau or PowerBI
  • Fluency in at least one scripting or programming language such as R, Python, or PowerShell
  • A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) computer science, data science or a related technical field
