This newly created role will lead our Pricing Strategy and Execution functions within the Small/Medium Business segment.  The role is accountable for developing end-to-end pricing strategies and processes for our wireless and wireline services.  This team plays a critical role in driving profitable subscriber growth for our business, and will achieve this objective through both thoughtful strategies and flawless execution.

The successful candidate will work with various senior stakeholders across the business to help define pricing strategies that are aligned to our system and process capabilities.  The role is highly visible and will work closely with partner teams in the consumer and Enterprise business segments, as well as SMB partner teams across Marketing, Finance, Operations and IT.

 

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Pricing Framework
    • Lead the delivery of pricing strategies for each of the products we sell, ensuring that they are tailored to the unique needs of the small & medium business segment
    • Conduct regular profitability and volume reviews to assess the results of the strategies, and recommend changes where required.
    • Provide reporting and analysis to assess the performance of offers and tactics across our products and distribution channels
    • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure that SMB pricing and offer considerations are woven into launch plans for new Bell products and services, and for internal tool and system enhancements
    • End-to-end planning of customer base pricing changes, including communication, legal and regulatory alignment, and post-launch tracking.

 

  • Pricing Execution
    • Implement offers and pricing changes with speed and accuracy.  During peak times, this team could be executing multiple offer changes per day.
    • Maintain up-to-date inventory of offers that are available to new and/or existing customers, including detailed tracking of offer stackability and channel restrictions
    • Collaborate closely with IT teams to ensure planned pricing changes are executed with the right level of oversight, contingency planning and stakeholder reviews
    • Ensure that execution and take-to-market plans for all projects touching the SMB segment have thoroughly considered all operational impacts. This team will “sweat the details” of every new product introduction that touches SMB customers.
    • Manage a team of revenue assurance resources who focus on high priority system and process opportunities to reduce revenue leakage and improve the customer experience.

 

  • People
    • Lead and develop a team of pricing specialists who cover a broad range of products, from simple to complex.  Achieve the right balance of analytical skills with the technical/ operational skills required to execute.
    • Coach team members to drive high performance and job engagement
    • Identify and recruit high potential talent to backfill departures and create a leadership pipeline
    • Ensure team knowledge and skillset is up to date for maximum performance

 

Critical Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Finance, Business Intelligence, Engineering or related fields
  • 5+ years experience in a Marketing or Finance discipline
  • 4+ years of direct people management experience
  • Highly analytical, able to form hypotheses on potential market dynamics and prepare various pricing strategies which take these dynamics into account
  • Experience in the telecom sector is an asset
  • Excellent attention to detail that shines through in written and oral communications that are well understood by multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to learn and understand new technologies
  • Strong business acumen, with an appreciation for the opportunities and constraints that accompany an ever-evolving competitive environment
  • Proven project management and change management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, ambiguous environment, managing multiple projects through effective prioritization, sense of urgency while meeting timelines
  • High level of computer proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and MS Project)

 

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
