We are now recruiting for a Fraud Investigations Data Scientist to join our Audit team. The role will be working from home and from our head office in Burnaby, BC. Apply this week if you would like to take on this role.

Key Ways This Position Makes An Impact

The Fraud Investigations Data Scientist is responsible for providing support to the Fraud Investigation team by providing analytics, trends, and reporting support. In this role you will then generate and analyze data sets to enable the success of fraud investigations.

This role will use modeling techniques such as supervised and unsupervised machine learning.

This role helps generate and identify fraud patterns using statistical techniques and data analytic tools, codes algorithms into the analytics tool, and develops a targeted list based on criteria and risk scoring algorithms.

By writing algorithms, analyzing data, supporting the team, and training team members about the data that has been uncovered, you will help with the setting of the Claims Fraud Investigation process.

In this role, you would develop models and emerging patterns for new fraud schemes to understand suspicious activity and identify and resolve risks.

Key Experiences You Bring To This Role

  • Minimum 5 years’ of experience in manipulating large datasets
  • Minimum 3 years’ of relevant quantitative and qualitative analytics experience creating analytical reports
  • Proficiency in writing SQL queries
  • Proficiency in creating predicting machine learning models using R or Python
  • Experience using Cognos, Oracle, Microsoft SSRS, Powerview, PowerPivot, Tableau, PowerBI
