Job Description:

Reporting to the Manager of Enterprise Business Applications, Microsoft, the incumbent will be supporting the College’s Cloud Adoption strategy by being responsible for providing expertise in solution development, implementation, maintenance, administration and technical support services for the platform’s solutions and integrations.

The incumbent will have in-depth knowledge of object-oriented programming, full-stack development, cloud design patterns and security best-practices for application and database security.

The incumbent takes on a business analysis, technical advisor, planning and operational role in customizing, developing and administering the platform’s solutions and related DevOps/Continuous Improvement components with the express purpose of delivering on the goals and objectives of the College. Always taking a client-centric approach, the incumbent places strong emphasis on usability and ensures all solutions provide an optimal experience for both internal clients (employees) and external clients (students, partners).  

The incumbent is responsible for working with internal clients to gather requirements and implement solutions, configurations and code changes. In addition, the incumbent will document system architecture, configuration and administrative processes.  Furthermore, the incumbent will take a proactive approach to maintaining and optimizing existing solutions, development frameworks, development processes, providing technical advice, orientation, training, guidance and direction to administrative and academic clients, and end-users.

The incumbent also provides guidance to other development staff to support the integration of our systems leading to the sharing of information across all business units.

The incumbent will keep abreast of Azure changes and features to make recommendations to the Team Lead, Architect and Manager as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum three (3) year diploma/degree or equivalent in Business, Computer Science or related Information Technology field;

  • Certified in Microsoft .Net technology (ASP.NET/C#), Microsoft SQL Server and Visual Studio;

  • Certified in Azure DevOps and Azure Developer Associate;

  • A combination of at least 8 years’ experience in IT: Business Analysis, Project Management and/or custom solution development with standard object-oriented languages. Two of these years must be in Azure Application Development;

  • Development of API, Web Services, Service Bus/Layer development;

  • In-depth knowledge of standard capabilities of Azure and have created integrations with internal and external systems;

  • In-depth knowledge of standard capabilities of M365 and graph API;

  • Strong reporting background using Cloud analytics and PowerBI;

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business processes into technical requirements;

  • Demonstrated experience in planning and implementation of system upgrades and customizations;

  • Demonstrated experience in documenting application frameworks, policies & procedures;

  • Coding, testing and maintaining software updates and projects;

  • Addressing defects identified by clients.
