Become a part of Stantec’s Community Development team that leads the integrated design process between landscape architecture, urban design, planning, architecture and engineering. We are landscape architects and urban designers with a strong vision for innovative and collaborative work and the design of public spaces. Our Vancouver office is seeking an Intermediate– Level Landscape Architect/ Designer to join our landscape architecture and urban design group in British Columbia. This position offers the opportunity to be involved in unique design projects across Western Canada and North America while working interactively with our design team, clients, municipalities and the public on a broad range of projects.

Your Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborative mindset, that is open to ideas but can exercise critical thinking throughout the design process, is excited about the challenge and is passionate about landscape architecture and urban design work
  • Design lead, drafting and detailing within an AutoCAD, Sketchup and Rhino environment.
  • Production of various design-related deliverables with a variety of digital and hand media
  • Supporting team lead and staff with various aspects of the profession
  • Participate and brainstorm ideas on the preparation of graphic materials and design reports.
  • Excellent written communication skills and the ability to excel and be a self-motivated individual who wants to lead their work in the future

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials:

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office applications. Strong technical detailing, graphic and digital design and documentation skills.
  • Ability to utilize modelling and rendering software such as Sketchup, Rhino, Lumion, etc.
  • Working knowledge in Landfx and interest in Rhino and Grasshopper software is not required but is considered an asset.

Education and Experience

  • 4-8 years of professional experience in landscape architecture office or equivalent of professional, education or landscape construction experience
  • A degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited university or a combination of related education and experience.

A demonstration portfolio of project work will need to be provided for review. This can either be in pdf format as part of your resume, or links to an online portfolio site.
