Your Opportunity

We have an immediate opening for a Junior Environmental Scientist specializing in groundwater to join our team in our Waterloo, ON office.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a Junior Environmental Scientist, you would be involved in a variety of projects related to hydrogeologic assessment, groundwater supply development and groundwater protection and management for a variety of clients including municipal clients, oil &gas and mining industry and developers. Responsibilities would include:

  • Assist with site characterization studies and follow-up reporting activities under the supervision of senior staff (e.g., drilling, piezometer installation, groundwater sampling)
  • Technical report preparation and writing; data collection, management and analysis
  • Perform tasks, as requested, efficiently and accurately, using standard methods and techniques
  • Travel as required to various field sites with overnight travel sometimes required

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Ability to meet a strong demand for high-quality, organized and consistent results
  • Confident individual who demonstrates strong initiative and is capable of independent action with the ability to make informed decisions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Time management – balancing immediate and long-term work with varying priorities and deadlines
  • Valid driver’s license is required for business travel

Education and Experience

Post-secondary educational background specializing in groundwater supply evaluation, development and protection
