Job Description:

Be part of an exciting and challenging opportunity by helping to accelerate the growth and application of lean design and process automation at Sun Life Canada. As part of the Financial Operations Enablement team within Sun Life Canada's Finance business unit, you will have the opportunity to support our digital journey by automating manual processes and digitizing internal operations in order to increase efficiency and provide our clients with exceptional service at scale.

What will you do?

  • Lead and facilitate workshops and meetings to analyze current state operational processes, tools and systems

  • Conduct in depth process analysis and identify automation/digitization opportunities

  • Conduct cost benefit analysis to calculate the benefits that each new project will deliver

  • Develop and or re-design new processes to support stakeholders

  • Lead business process discussions and provide advice on how to make processes more efficient/lean

  • Create clear and concise process documentation

  • Coach and train employees on lean design

What will you need to succeed?

  • Process improvement experience

  • Lean six sigma green belt certification or design thinking training and certification preferred

  • Proven balance of analytical and creative problem solving skills

  • Ability to think with agility in meeting business partners' demanding deadlines

  • Ability to move with minimum effort from detailed diagnostic thinking to higher level, opportunity-oriented thinking and to integrate the best from both into contributions and deliverables

  • Must be able to effectively communicate complex results and technical information to a business audience not familiar with complex processes

  • Proven ability to work well independently and also function in a team environment, with frequent contact with individuals and teams at all levels of the Sun Life Canada organization

  • Demonstrate an owner's mindset when approaching work, including prioritizing efforts, owning the work plan, and keeping key stakeholders informed

What will be good to have?

  • RPA experience would be an asset; the ability to provide programming expertise in the analysis, design and development of robotics automation applications

  • Experience preparing detailed specifications from which programs will be written; designing, coding, testing, debugging and documenting programs

  • Past experience in life insurance / wealth management, other financial services industry components (e.g., retail banking, credit card, properly and casualty insurance), or distribution

  • Experience within an agile team a benefit

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.  It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.  In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.  Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
