Sun Life Canada Distribution (SLFD) is one of the leading financial institutions that offer Canadians holistic advice and solutions including insurance, wealth and health. We are on an exciting journey to create a hybrid human and digital advice channel powered by a team of advisors and supported by a digital engagement platform. 

Reporting to the Director, Solution Delivery, the Manager, Solution Delivery will be responsible for the delivery of the digital engagement platform and capabilities necessary to transform the advisor and client experience. This role is responsible for end-to-end technology solution delivery and management support for the Prospr by Sun Life business perspective.  

The Manager, Solution Delivery will work closely with the technology delivery teams and product owners on release planning, execution & delivery, transformation & innovation to deliver work class digital products.

What will you do?

Release Planning

• Support the creation of the agile/non-agile implementation deployment plans in collaboration with build squads, scrum master(s), product owner(s) & Program Director
• Support UX delivery with design agency(s) within an established UX process flow, ensuring UI and Dev team is consulted and aware of all UX changes, impacts etc.

 Execution/Delivery

• Manage expectations between technology and Business teams around timelines, solution options etc.; Provide clarity and decisions to build, PMO teams, especially when a change of direction is required
• Identify impact of UX and/or Copy revisions etc. to the build team and co-ordinate communications around this with Business & technology teams
• Assist with the creation of UX, copy and content schedules in conjunction with marketing, copy writer and PM
• Support CA Product Owner in decision making and prioritization with a lens on build, implementation timelines and escalate as needed
• Assist with platform licensing tracking, based on platform user growth and data
• Remove blockers and dependencies for the agile room and other delivery teams
• Coordinate discussions between Business SMEs, build teams PO etc. as needed to reach consensus

Transformation/Innovation

• Support UX Process flow and build team hand-off revisions as required
• Support Agile transformation within the business
• Identify opportunities for digital innovation and continuous improvement e.g., Dev Ops, Data Analytics etc.

Communication and relationship management

• Effectively communicate and influence with key insights, ideas and strategies, in a clear, compelling and concise manner
• Proactively stay in touch with internal partners to maintain an understanding of new developments in their areas and identify opportunities for collaboration
• Tailor both written and verbal communication based on audience and situation to maximize buy-in and establish productive working relationships

What do you need to succeed?

 Domain expertise

• 5+ years of relevant agile digital delivery experience & technology
• Strong knowledge of distribution, wealth and / or insurance space, or willingness to learn
• Proven track record of implementation experience; Experience in sales and / or distribution technology and platforms is an asset
• Demonstrate knowledge of technology platforms or ability to learn about technology and digital products, experience working on technical products is a plus
• Salesforce expertise is an asset

Strategic thinking and analytical skills

• Proven ability to develop creative, human-centered solutions which balance end-user experience, total cost of ownership, complexity, and speed to market
• Ability to solve problems effectively by balancing various lenses business, operations, design and technology

Agile experience

• Experienced with facilitating agile ceremonies, managing a backlog/release plan, tracking team level metrics, removing blockers
• SAFe, CSM, CSPO, or PMP certification is an asset

Mindset and behaviors
