Job Summary

The Live Event and Media Production team is looking for experienced Lighting technicians with operator experience. Working as part of a larger team your expertise will be used to support Signature Festivals and events at Celebration Square, Musicals and Dance performances at Meadowvale theatre, and in game support for Raptors 905 and the Mississauga Steelheads at The Paramount Fine Food Centre.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Setup lighting systems and programming according to the event requirements.
  • Maintain daily paperwork required to operate festival or event.
  • Work with artists and promotes to ensure sound requirements are met.
  • Provide troubleshooting support for system failures.
  • Lead stage crew in equipment setups and changeovers.  
  • Follow best practices and ensure safety of staff, venue and equipment at all times.
  • Provide guidance to Jr. Staff helping them to develop their skills.
  • Preform equipment maintenance to ensure equipment stays in a state of good repair.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Post-secondary with a specialization in audio.
  • Design or operational experience in the field of lighting. 
  • Experience with setup and operation of all lighting equipment and systems.
  • Understanding of the characteristics of different lighting protocols and how they function.  
  • Ability to setup and patch different lighting fixtures and consoles.
  • Ability to produce high quality work quickly under pressure.
  • Ability to lift supplies and equipment such as lighting fixtures, staging decks, truss,  and other production equipment.

Hourly Rate/Salary: 20.01 - 25.28 
Hours of Work: up to 40 hours
