Janssen is recruiting for a Project Manager, Medical Affairs Solutions, located in Toronto.

The Project Manager, plans and implements new opportunities to use technology to enable the core functions of Medical Affairs – scientific data exchange, scientific data dissemination and scientific / medical communication. You work with partners to define business needs and extract requirements that will inform the solution delivered to meet their needs. You collaborate with Business Leaders in Medical Affairs as well as with multi-functional leaders and partners to Plan investments and pivotal initiatives that align Medical Affairs with key strategic imperatives. You lead Project teams comprised of members both within and external to Medical Affairs developing Project Charter and Schedule, aligning team members to Project objectives and leading to Milestones to ensure delivery of the Project meets or exceeds value it was intended to deliver. You have strengths in communication, in problem solving, in negotiating with stakeholders, in leading projects with multi-functional membership, in influencing laterally, upwardly and often without authority. You have strong client relationship management, project management and business analysis skills and have experience working with all levels of business partners including management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides overall responsibility for the planning and execution of projects from project initiation to completion.
  • Analyze business needs, bring together, document and assess business requirements from partners and define a case for a technology solution
  • Develops and monitors continuous improvement activities, including measuring existing systems against changing business requirements to determine enhancements and process improvements.
  • Own the end-to-end deployment of Change initiatives including Continuing Improvement activities in Veeva CRM.
  • Lead the extension and advancement of integrations with systems (CRM, SFDC, HCP Portals) that support pivotal initiatives including Omnichannel and Medical Affairs Data strategy.
  • Lead Project teams of members both within and external to Medical Affairs aligning team members to Project objectives
  • Transform the information from business partners to functional requirements and user stories that can be translated to technology partners for solution design and delivery.
  • Develop data models, process workflow diagrams, user interface specifications (wireframes, UX/I, URS) as needed
  • Participate in technical design, giving insights and ideas that help translate business needs of functional partners into solution specifications
  • Lead the assessment of technology solutions and vendors to identify scalable digital solutions used across therapeutic areas and by multiple business units, e.g., Webcasting and Virtual Medical Meetings technologies, Veeva CRM, Veeva Vault capabilities
  • Work multi-functionally and with global partners (IT, Compliance, Medical and Scientific Affairs partners) to drive projects forward and provide optimal value to the organization.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in science, Business, or Information Technology

Experience and Skills:

  • 5+years business and/or technology experience, including business analyst or project manager in a pharmaceutical, technical, financial (or other regulated) industry
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences regulated environment (GxP) QC, Clinical/Medical or Drug Safety experience
  • Depth of expertise in leading CRM platform Change initiatives and Web / online digital asset deployment is preferred
  • Broad expertise in technology platforms and tools such as SaaS, Enterprise Document Management platforms, Salesforce.com, SharePoint, Veeva CRM/Vault, BI tools (Qlik, Tableau, Cognos), Adobe, Office365
  • Solid understanding of medical/clinical terminology, roles and responsibilities
  • Process Excellence/Six Sigma methodology and terminology is an asset

  • Strong business analysis and project management skills required, including a deep understanding of translating customer business needs into technology requirements
