The ideal candidate will be part of a collaborative software engineering team working on Spring Boot, Microservices, Kafka, NoSQL, Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

• Help in developing libraries to be consumed by different applications.
• Upgrade all the existing services to a new platform and latest version of software.
• Upgrade the functions like logging, performance and integrations of the micro services.
• Building new reporting tools and services to help solve the data issues in the testing environment
• Understanding of software quality assurance principles.
• Candidate will be passionate about driving teams towards high performance and a deep pride in quality craftsmanship that delights users.

We’re working towards a future that is digital by default and creating a local Hub in Vancouver.

This hybrid role offers the opportunity both to work remotely and head to the Hub to collaborate in person, co-creating a cohesive and inclusive culture with your Vancouver team.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have:

• 5+ years of experience in software development and supporting complex large-scale customer facing platforms.
• 5+ years experience as a Java developer with a preference for Java 8/Spring, web-based information technology principles, and system integration methodologies and standards.
• 5+ years of experience in building public and internal REST APIs.
• Strong experience with APM tools, such as Dynatrace, Splunk, etc. – 2 recent projects.
• Strong experience using Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Launch Darkly, etc. – 2 recent projects.
• FI / Digital banking experience is preferred but not required.
• Well-rounded knowledge of Agile principles and the flexibility to adapt your experience to new and evolving environments.
• Knowledge of a variety of frameworks (server side, browser side, desktop etc.) as well as high aptitude for diving in and picking up new things.
