Position: Senior DevSecOps Developer - Mobile

The Digital Solutions team is looking for a Senior DevSecOps Developer with an interest in designing, developing, implementing, supporting, and analyzing large-scale tooling and systems while incorporating threat modeling, vulnerability testing, and incident management to support the end-to-end mobile development process.

You have a strong technical background as a Software Developer and good problem-solving skills that show initiative. You are accepting of responsibility and open to sharing and learning new skills.

Your responsibilities:

  • Act as a key technical resource regarding security matters related to DevSecOps and secure development practices
  • Perform security architecture reviews of applications in design and implementation phases
  • Provide technical leadership to team members from a security perspective
  • Participate in implementation and deployment of new tools, processes and best practices in order to improve knowledge sharing and promote security awareness among team members
  • Review security reports from internal tools and be hands-on in addressing the findings
  • Coordinate and manage 3rd party security PenTests and audits
  • Prepare security training material and lead training sessions for team members
  • Create and maintain standards and documentation related to security processes, procedures and infrastructure

Your background and skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field

  • 3+ years of software development experience preferably in Java with some exposure to Spring frameworks
  • Experience in native Mobile development (iOS/Android) is an asset
  • Experience configuring Jenkins build environments
  • Working knowledge of vulnerability assessment and security/penetration testing
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning tools such as SonarQube, JFrog XRay, etc.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in both English and French is an asset
  • Multi-tasker, customer and results-focused
  • Teamwork - ability to work collaboratively with others (technical and non-technical)
  • Good communicator, self-motivated and service-oriented, a self-starter
  • Good organizational and time management skills

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.  It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.  In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.  Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
